I haven't tried the split pea, listed, but it sure looks good!

I love a good soup! When I lived in San Francisco I got used to the weather, but now... there's no way I could handle it without being bundled up like a tourist.
I make a really good 'throw everything in it' chicken soup. I like to throw rice, chicken, zucchini, corn, garlic, bullion, peppercorns... whatever looks good and serve it with crusty bread. Mm-mm! The wonders of soup. Oh, how I wish we had a nice farmer's market around here. I am on a CSA waiting list. Can't wait until my name gets called on that one! :) Let me know how your soup comes out.

LOL! Scarf and mittens for the Californian’s! <img

I am originally from Missouri and laughed and laughed at people out here who whined about the cold or the heat. 8 years later? I'm freezing my tukus off. Seriously. This place turns us into wimps. We can't help it. ha!
On another note, thanks so much for this recipe. I usually make a big batch of soup to get me through the week at work. The farmer's market has all of these goodies super cheap right now. This will be perfect!

Don’t mock! And I am forever buying knee high socks or tights to wear under pants. But its about 20 minutes and kind of refreshing. the people I shake my head at are die-hard joggers and bike riders! The gym was created for a reason!

its not a bad walk…you have to mummify yourself with a scarf, a toque and a parka. I have to "zonify" them first so I'm sure they'll be slightly different, but they both sound soooo good! I will probably post them on my recipes blog once I figure out the new ingredient! THANK YOU FOR THE GENIUS IDEAS AS ALWAYS!

Just a warning- I fully plan to steal the Three Sister Soup and Split pea soup recipes! Chicken Tortilla soup also makes for a great get together buffet. Just make the base and then all the additions go into separate bowls (shredded cheese, scallions, etc...). That way guest can make their tortilla soup they way they like it. I like mine really spicy. It'll help warm me up in these frigid temps. ;)

I’m a whiner, huh? 60-70 degrees – LOL.

Chicken Tortilla soup also makes for a great get together buffet.
