We Quit!!!

Emerald Bay, Lake TahoeSo my husband and I just came back from this location (above). When we got home we threw the keys on the table, called work and QUIT!!!

Got your attention, huh?

We didn’t really quit our jobs, but we have every intention of working towards that goal. We came to the conclusion that we are bored sick of our jobs, tired of making money for a company when we could be harboring our skills for our own company, and want to spend more time as a family.

We are working together to make it happen. Brainstorming to come up with ideas to work for our own. We realize that:

– it doesn’t have to be a “new” idea
– it doesn’t have to be a complicated idea
– that we need to be living and loving the concept (so what do we do now in our lives that we love?)
– And that we can do it! No doubt.

We have hit that line that says to us,

“It is time to take your life into your own hands and make it yours! Claim it! Live it as it was meant to be!”

I’ll keep you updated on our ideas. And I realize I have embarked on this subject before. Let’s refresh. If you could live your dream job what would it be? And why are you not doing it?
It’s time to dream and make it real!

Wow… gorgeous photo! Good for you πŸ™‚ We are at the same point, just trying to find a ‘way’ … it starts now that my book is done. I am going to now get crafty for a while to try and sell a few things on line πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see how your ideas develop!

You could sell those cobblers of yours in a cafe.

You got the book done? But has anyone else been your critic aside from your husband?
I look forward to your journey, too!

I can’t see cubicle living for much longer or I am going to go insane! πŸ˜‰

I am glad i stumbled upon that website. Lots of great info!

Wow, awesome picture! I would want to quit what I’m doing to see that every day!

What are your plans? Sounds intriguing for sure!

That is our thought, exactly. DH’s parents live at the base of Tahoe. And we plan on moving up there.

There is a great Scandanavian Historical Resort at the base called Vikingsholm. I finally got to take a tour of it. If you’d like to see more pics check out here. (When you click the link, click “view slideshow” in upper right hand corner – makes for easier viewing).

We also took a 5 mile hike along the bay. It was perfect!

We are toying with some ideas. Hope to gather them and plant them in a notebook this weekend. I will let you know soon.

Good for you! I do believe me and you are thinking the same thing, but on different sides of the world. My twelve week notice went in this week πŸ˜‰

Twelve weeks? What are your plans? Please do share. Must scour your posts to see what your intentions are.

The cubicle walls are really very constraining. I really am about to go insane. LOL. Defintiely going to keep tabs on your journey. *cheers* to much success!

I’ve been so busy with w/taking care of other folks/family recently that it’s hard to remember that I’m taking steps to see if I can do what I love. I’m taking CFP classes right now, and since the beginning of school coincided with the recent awfulness I lost sight of how much I love playing with budgets and stuff. But last night? Last night I put together an income and expense sheet for a close friend and was SUPER stoked. Made it all pretty like and stuff, too. πŸ˜€

(Is there any way to follow comments by the post, here? Or will that show up after I comment? I forget.)

To follow comments (as I had to find out myself right now – lol), click the comment rss in the upper right hand corner of this website. But that follows all comments not just yers. I’ll have to figure that one out. πŸ˜‰

Revanche, what ever you are going through… my best wishes to you and your folks/family. Please keep going towards what you love to do (even if you have to stop momentarily). And I bet that I&E came out fantastic; I have no doubt. Never are our journeys easy to capture, but then i guess that is why we end up loving them so much further on (or so in theory).

Keep on going with the CFP classes. Many people will truly benefit from hiring you. And you’ll be doing what you want to do in life. *Financial freedom! Here the crowds roar! Yeahhhhh!!!*
