When Dreams Come True the end is a Surreal Feeling

**Warning: Personal info may be TMI (too much information)**

The other night, Brad Pitt and me had thee best night of raunchy passion. Kicked back to eat Indian food at a small restaurant in Thailand, went back to my room at the hotel and…the rest is my history. πŸ˜‰

Okay, so it was only a really damn good dream, but if my intentions are to make my dreams come true than this fantastic night of playful fun is a great indication that when dreams come true the end is a surreal feeling.

Flexo from Cosumerism Commentary wrote a great piece called Start the Decade Off Right: Do Something You Love. I really enjoyed the piece and I think you will, too. It sums up that life is too short and it’s time to do something you are passionate about.

How to embark?

  • continue to seek out opportunities to discover new and old passions
  • eliminate anything that doesn’t stem from passion
  • and… try everything if you don’t know what your passions are
  • The last one really rang a bell with me as I have somehow lost focus with what it is I love to do. Try everything – a simple and profound solution. Make a list of those things you’ve always wanted to do or accomplish no matter how silly it may sounds. Let your ideas fall out of boundries.

    Some of my ideas:

    • Write a book
    • Take martial arts
    • Learn woodworking
    • Learn to snowboard
    • Build a sustainable business
    • Travel the world, backpacking
    • Jump out of a plane
    • Zipline in Costa Rica
    • Each lunch with Brad Pitt in Thailand
    • Now that you have your list. Think of ways you can break it down to smaller tasks to accomplish your big goal. I want to travel the world. Since, I can’t travel it all at one time I am choosing to plan one section of my trip this year. How much is it going to cost? Where will I stay? How do I plan to get around? Then I plan on taking that trip in the near future and marking that section off the list and starting on another.

We can think of 2010 as the decade that passed us by or the decade we are going to take hold of (past vs. present view). Do we wallow at what we didn’t accomplish or look with anticipation at what the future holds? I plan on looking forward to future with anticipation and kicking some Christine butt!

Love this post! I think I may take a year off to figure out what I am most passionate about and get to it!
    Thanks for the great links!

I am glad you enjoyed it. Oh, I wish I could take a year off to figure it out. Well even though I cannot, I do think I am going to take the time to embark on some new projects.

      Enjoy!

PS – thank you for the mention at Climbing Out’s blog!

Now that I’ve got my feet on the ground, I’ve been thinking more about what I’d like to do in the next decade. Last decade was school, finding a job, figuring out a career, etc. Just the other day I realized that now it’s time to start thinking about libraries I’d like to work in, collections or archives I’d like to manage someday (or digitize), and it’s very exciting!!

Perhaps I shall come up with my own list. πŸ™‚

    1. money funk

Oh, that would be very exciting to do – digitize libraries or work with great collections. I bet there are some very unique and wonderful collections to ponder on for hours. Love to hear your list. Kind of a prequel to the actual bucket list.

Ha ha, this gave me a laugh today…. I have not had a dream of such nature for a while and when I do I hope it does not involve Brad Pitt…. I may be a little freaked out!

Your list is pretty cool and many of them are on my list and many of them I have done already. I have never actually listed my dreams before!

why do your comments keep ending up in my spam box??? sorry about that. I need to see if i can fix that.

LOL. Ya, I think BP is reserved for me. ha.

Thanks. I really need to start living my adventures as it seems ‘life is getting short’. I kind of think in order to kick start my adventureous lifestyle I need to make a prequel Bucket List to my bucket list. πŸ˜‰

      LOL.

I need to work at that, too. I sometimes have an affection to latch onto other people’s happiness. Time to be happy cuz I like to be happy, like me, and don’t want to latch onto other people for their happiness. It’s not always easy to speak for oneself, but I think with lots of practice… could become second nature. πŸ™‚

Have you seen Mr. Pitt lately? He looks like Grizzly Adams. I notice your picture is of the pretty-boy Pitt. πŸ˜€ Anyhow, with respect to doing what you love, I’ve been struggling to reconcile with how some hobbies cost money. I guess I can only answer the question of whether the cost is worth it. πŸ˜€

    1. money funk

      I like pretty-boy Pitt. πŸ˜€
True, some hobbies can get darn expensive. But, I guess if we love what we are doing then we will find the money to advert. Now, I just need to decide what it is I want to take up first. Hmmm…

Man, between Sharon’s post about pennies and this post about dreams, I clearly have some work to do on both fronts. After all, need those pennies to fuel those dreams! (Loved this post, can you tell?)

    1. money funk

Hi April! Hope you had a wonderful start to the New Year! Me, I’ve had all sorts of technical problems. Funny thing, lady in the store yesterday was ranting about the same thing. LOL. Hmmm… Coincidence? I think not.

Sharon did a great job with her pennies, too! And I think she will continue to do so. I heard that sometimes it is better to stay home with family then work due to the costs being away from home (transportation, childcare, etc…)

And what dreams are you going to fuel, April? πŸ˜€

You just made me want to watch Troy. Mmmm, brad pitt. (I think that was one of the few times I utilized replay and slo mo, *ahem* a few too many times).

    1. money funk

      LOL. Too funny.

Actually the pic is a miss representation. He looked more like the Brad in Legends of the Fall with Anthony Hopkins. Mmmm-hmmm. πŸ˜‰

Loving this post… really struck a chord with me πŸ˜‰ I think my dreams for this year are to travel more and actually have somewhere to call home… whether that be on land or on water πŸ˜‰ As you know, we too write things down because I believe that when you see things on paper, it helps to make options look more achievable … although i think Brad might just be out of reach. LOL. I say keep striving for dreams because without dreams, life would be pretty dull!

    1. money funk

Where do you find funding for all your traveling, woman? And I love how you have all your future dreams/path scrawled on paper in your post. Okay, okay…Brad may be out of my reach but there ain’t no reason I can’t try! LOL. j/k.

You & your family are the respresentation of living your dreams. Now, if I could get my husband on that path.

Holy CRAP, are you going to have time to sleep? Keep up the great work Christine.

I love Brad Pitt too (oh snap did I just type that?)

    1. money funk

haha! Sleep is underrated. What is that saying, “Time to sleep when i die”. Something like that.

Hey, you like… I just learned the emotioncon for suprised: O_o
      LOL.
