Happy Halloween!

Tonight is the night
when dead leaves fly
like witches on switches
across the sky.
When elf and sprite flit
through the night on a moony sheen.

Tonight is the night
when leaves make a sound
like a gnome in his home under the ground.
When spooks and trolls
creep out of the holes,
all mossy and green.

Tonight is the night
when pumpkins stare
through sheaves and leaves everywhere.
When ghoul and ghost and goblin
host dance round their Queen.

It`s Halloween! It`s Halloween!
The moon is full and bright
And we shall see what can`t be seen
on any other night:

Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls,
Grinning goblins fighting duels,
Werewolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.

The skeletons are out tonight,
they march about the street,
With bony bodies, bony heads
and bony hands and feet.
Bony bony bony bones
with nothing in between,
Up and down and all around
they march on Halloween.

Have a Safe & Happy Halloween!

    You too, Christine!

Best line last night from a trick-or-treater, a 3 year old who I knew and who just looked worn out. I said “Nicholas, you’re dragging.” He said, very indignant, “No, I’m Batman!”

I had a great time. Thank you! I’ll have to post a family costume pic.
I was sad due to my kids don’t want to trick-or-treat anymore. They are just getting ‘too old’ for it. *Hmph*

I love kid’s naive comebacks. They really can say the cutest things. 🙂
