I was blog reading around and found Credit Karma offers a free credit score in seconds!!!
Put in a few details, choose to receive or not receive future offers, and WhaLa – Your credit score appears.
I am glad to have discovered this site!
Oh, you want to know the score, huh? 664 – Could be higher, but not going to complain. It’s better than the 528 (yes, that low) I had a few years back. Climbing out of the trenches.
A credit report score is a record of your credit activities. It lists any credit-card accounts or loans you may have, the balances, and how regularly you make your payments. Your credit report score also shows if any action has been taken against you because of unpaid bills. In the United States, a credit score is a number that is based on a statistical analysis of a person’s credit report, and is used to represent the creditworthiness of that person—the likelihood that the person will pay his or her debts. A credit score is primarily based on credit report information, typically from the three major credit bureaus: Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. All credit scores are not the same because each credit bureau uses its own scoring mechanism. Many lenders use third party credit scoring system such as FICO to evaluate the credit worthiness of a borrower.
Hi Max Ray: I agree that credit scores are all not the same. I really like the Vantage Score the Experian offers, yet they also offer the Plus Score. And they are different. Go figure?!?! But, I feel that Credit Karma’s offering the Trans Union score is a good earmark of where I stand. Thank you for your input. It is valuable advice. 🙂
